Does the DSH service contract pay for beds that are not filled? For example, if there are 140 persons declared IST on a felony charge, and a residence has 146 beds, does the service contract pay for the 6 empty beds?

DSH will provide $228.00 per day per resident, up to a maximum of $125,000 for an anticipated 18-month length of stay, to cover the costs of wraparound services. Due to the stipulations set forth regarding service funds, funds will only be issued for beds occupied by an individual deemed IST. DSH will allow counties to treat non-DSH patients in a portion of the DSH beds (more detail is forthcoming) so the county may temporarily fill empty beds with other county clients.
